Tagged

I got tagged to tell you 6 quirks, if you didn't already know I was weird you soon will.

1. I hate when other people do my dishes. I like them washed a certain way and put in the dishwasher a certain way. Same with the laundry.

2. I don't like the feeling of dirt. I love working in the yard so I always am wearing gloves.

3. I don't eat candy or dairy.

4. I'm always cold and am usually wearing a sweater even if it's 80 degrees.

5. I don't like TV and it drives me crazy when people leave it on all day.

6. I love to clean Johnny's and my kids ears. Johnny has big ears so it makes it really easy!!

The sad thing is I could think of a lot more. Now I tag Aubrey, Laura, Kelly Jensen, Kelli Thomsen, Gygi, Stacey, and Bryndee.

Tess is on the move

I can not believe it. Tess is crawling. Well technically she's army crawling but she can get across a room now. She is my earliest crawler beating Ethan and Porter by 2 months. This is insane and I hope that doesn't mean she'll be walking soon, yikes!!

What A Weekend

On Friday we headed out to 5 mile pass to go four wheeling with some of the Thomas'. We had a lot of fun, I'm so sad we didn't get a picture of our family on the four wheelers. Johnny had Joshua in front of him then Ethan and Porter behind him, I had Tess hooked to my front and Bella behind me. We got back and were just hanging out with everybody and Joshua had climbed up the four wheeler ramp and was playing in the back of the truck. I'm not quite sure how he did it but he fell out of the truck onto his head. I went home with him and had called the nurse about concussions and he didn't have any symptons so he went to bed. The next day he hardly moved so we figured his neck was sore. Today he woke up and we realized it wasn't his neck it was his arm and he still hadn't used it. So I took him into Urgent Care and he broke his collar bone!! I felt like such a loser that I had waited until today to take him in. He has a little sling and it has made a big difference. He is feeling much better and is even running around with the kids. There's not a whole lot we can do other than keep him comfortable until the bone heals itself. Here are some pictures of us four wheeling and one of Joshua's arm.

Pray For Lance

On Monday night we were at another riveting coed softball game in Pleasant Grove. My brother-in-law Lance was pitching and took a ball straight to his face. He immediately went to the Emergency Room and had several tests done. They weren't much help but he got into a specialist the next day. He had to go in for emergency surgery. The ball had hit him so hard that it shattered his face. He had to get three permanent plates, one dissolvable(sp?) one, and about 15 screws into his face. They had to take his eye lid off so they could get into his head, they put one plate above his eye and one below. The third plate they went through the roof of his mouth for his jaw. He also fractured the other side of his face but there isn't anything they can do other than be careful.

On top of all of this Lance was supposed to be deployed today. He won't be leaving until November. He is doing pretty well but it's only been two days since he had surgery. So please remember him and his family in your prayers.

Tess 6 Months Old Pictures

I just got Tess' pictures back today and I think they turned out so cute!! What can I say, I make pretty babies :)

Happy Birthday Ethan!!

Ethan is 7! I can't believe it has gone so fast. His birthday was on Sunday the 5th but we went out as a family last night instead of throwing a big friend party. We went to Thanksgiving Point and despite the wind we had a really good time!! They had a lot of fun stuff to do there. Here is my crazy bunch the empty hole is Joshua if you look close you can see his hand in there.

The dangerous go-carts.

Here is why they were dangerous. We don't really know what happened but some how she managed to drive up onto one of the logs and apparently bonked her face.

So we did the kiddie corn maze I went in with the kids while Johnny stayed out with the stroller and Tess. I let Porter lead the way and somehow we crossed over into the giant maze. I got us really lost and luckily I found a worker who got us out of there. I was laughing but Porter and Bella were crying that we were never going to get out of there. Oh the drama...I would have had a picture of Ethan but he had ran off and found a way out of the maze. Looks like I was following the wrong kid.

For his birthday Ethan wanted a globe and books. He needed the globe so he knows where he can go exploring and the books so he knows what he would like to explore. He got a bike recently and he has been giving himself bike lessons so he can go where he wants, to explore. Did I mention Ethan likes to explore?

Time For A Change

This summer I had made the decision to home school my kids. I had researched different curriculum and was all set to go. I had mentioned to a few people that I would be homeschooling and they went on about how hard it is and how I have little children, blah blah, etc. So I chickened out and stuck them back into their school. Well a month went by and although I loved the curriculum at their school I wasn't enjoying ALL the extra activities and time commitment. My friend that I was carpooling with decided to take her daughters out and that would mean I would have to start driving back and forth everyday three times a day. So I took my kids out last week and have been homeschooling. I LOVE IT!! I am getting so much quality time with my kids. I know exactly what they are learning and where they need to be challenged and where they need a little help. It is so nice to set my own schedule, do my own field trips even Johnny is taking the kids for 2 hours once a week to teach Spanish and Geography. I am really lucky to have 2 other families in my neighbor who also home school so that we can have our recess around the same time and to have their help and support on what I am doing. My kids really enjoy it, especially Ethan.

I thought the house would be a constant wreck while doing this but it hasn't been to bad (other than Joshua ripping everything apart) Since they're home they help do the dishes and keep the kitchen clean. Yesterday they sorted the laundry while we talked about some of the things we were learning. I guess I'll have to do post again in a couple of months when the newness has worn off and see if I'm still loving it :)

Sisters

I have to have the world's funnest sisters. Today is my sister Heather's 30th birthday. So what would we give her...perfume, jewelry, clothes?? Oh no, that just won't suffice for such an important birthday. Tiffany had the wonderful idea to make a music video for Heather. We found the most lovely song "Happy Birthday Princess" thanks to the Disney Princess Soundtrack I unfortunately own. Of course we had to dress up like princesses for the music video. Tiffany is a Hindu Princess, Ashley is a Hawaiian Princess, I'm Belle, and Kallee is Princess Aurora. So we spent a few hours last night creating this masterpiece for Heather and then we went to her house and tied black balloons in her trees and put signs up in her yard. Heather worked the graveyard shift at the hospital so we took the movie to her at 1:30 in the morning so she could enjoy her present. Needless to say she loved it. I don't dare share the music video with anyone but her is a picture of how hot we looked for it.
